International Symposium Contemporary Issues of Literary Criticism is annually organized since 2007 in Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature. Symposium is thematic and is dedicated to contemporary concerns of literary criticism.
Annually, Symposium organizing committee receives hundreds of applications not only from more than 20 countries (Including The USA, Canada, Japan, Bulgaria, German, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Azerbaijan, Macedonia, Turkey, Iran and etc), but also from different universities and research centers of Georgia. Symposium scientific committee selects approximately 100 participants.
In the framework of the symposium different panels and a round-table are operated. Symposium has couple of key-note speakers. Working languages of symposium are: Georgian, English and Russian.
Symposium proceedings are published in two volumes and uploaded in Google Scholar.
Symposium proceedings capture worldwide attention because of their actual topics and high scientific qualities. Prestigious international publishing houses were interested in these editions. In 2011 Cambridge Scholar Publishing published proceedings of the 7th International symposium Totalitarianism and Literary Discourse: 20-th Century Experience. In 2014 the same publishing house published the proceedings of the 9th International symposium Literary in Exile Emigrants’ Fiction 20th Century Experience.
Featured papers are published in Sjani (Thoughts), an annual Georgian scientific journal of literary theory and comparative literature which is included in EBSCO, CEEOL, VABB-SHW and ERIH PLUS basis.
